В городе Вирджиния-Бич на восточном побережье США госслужащий устроил стрельбу в муниципальном комплексе. По последним данным, его жертвами стали 12 человек. Сам стрелок также погиб.
Первые сообщения о стрельбе в Вирджиния-Бич (355 км от Вашингтона, штат Вирджиния) полиция города получила около 16 часов по местному времени (23 часа по московскому). Стрелок открыл огонь в муниципальном комплексе недалеко от мэрии и здания суда. В комплексе расположены офисы коммунальных служб города.
Издание Wall Street Journal передает со ссылкой на местных чиновников, что человек, устроивший стрельбу, долгое время работал в сфере коммунальных услуг города, и его уволили.
